- Slow HD ?! I had a SeaGate which was extremely slow, i replaced
- it with a Quantum 3.5" and everything is faster.

- You can

-
- Where the source and destination are is completely irrelavent, i
- can copy a 700K file from floppy to HD and still have access to
- the data where the file is being copied *TO. *, you`ll notice
- that if you try and do a directory listing for the destination
- partition the drive will thrash like mad because one task does
- not block another both are multitasking and accessing data on the HD.

- Ahhhhhhhh! i get it, what your saying is that you can`t do all
- tasks from the WorkBench!, yes that is because WB is not
- Multi*threaded*, however you can achieve all of what you say if
- you tasks open on different screens, eg Imagine rendering in the
- background on it own screen, copping a file from floppy to HD in
- DOpus and printing in FinalWriter Lite.
-
-
- Its all become clear now, the Amiga has different "screens" for
- everthing, on an A1200 with say 6 meg it does really become
- useable and very efficient try it out you`ll love it, i can`t
- live without different screens, open about 5 screens and press
- LAmiga-M continously very quickly you`ll appreciate the smoothness
- at which everything switches.
